Tomato Sandwich
Bread, preferably a soft version
Mayo, lots of it
Salt & pepper to taste
Thinly-sliced tomato, layered (fresh from the garden is even better)
Slice in half and eat! Taste the good food the earth gives us!
Opening Day
We visited on opening day, and traffic was great even at 8:00 a.m.
We heard a dulcimer player (the kids were entranced), saw friends,
ate yummy empanadas for breakfast from an artisan
baker (one each of peach and mushroom), and got a big bag of
mixed greens for only $3! Sweet potatoes (last year's crop, of course),
and greenhouse tomatoes and basil were also to be had. Nothing beats
a big juicy tomato sandwich with mayo! (See recipe below.) Finished
up with chocolate chip cookies from Emma's Desserts.
